TwitchR is a free bird recording app that works with no signal at all. Log a sighting in a few taps in the field, and it syncs itself when you're back in range. Every record you make builds a lifetime history you can search, map, export and compare year on year.

Quick Add
Start typing a species, tap, done. Your location is picked up automatically, and the day's list at this site stays on screen so you can see what you've already counted.
Works offline
No signal on the reserve? Doesn't matter. Records are saved on your device and synced automatically when you're back online — nothing is lost.
Identify
Not sure what you're looking at? Pick the field marks you can see and TwitchR scores them against known species, with an AI fallback when the match isn't clear.
Firsts, spotted for you
Lifetime firsts and first-of-year records are flagged as you log them, with last year's date alongside so you can see whether the swifts are early or late this year.
On the map
Open any record and see where it was, alongside everywhere else you've seen that species. Your saved locations make revisiting a favourite patch a one-tap job.
Friends
Connect with the people you bird with and see what they've been recording. Invite someone by email and they'll be set up in a minute.
Bring your old bird records with you
Years of notebooks and spreadsheets shouldn't be stranded. Everything you've already recorded can go in, and everything in TwitchR can come out again.
Past sightings
Typing up last weekend's walk? Pick the date and place once, then list what you saw. Every record lands on that day, not today.
CSV import
Drop in a spreadsheet from another app or your own records. TwitchR reads UK dates, works out the columns, matches species names and shows you anything it wasn't sure about before importing — and won't duplicate what's already there.
History & export
Filter your whole history by species, site and date range, and export exactly that as CSV. It's your data — take it wherever you like.

There's no app store and nothing to install unless you want to.
Create an account
Just an email address and a password. It's free.
Add it to your home screen
Open twitchr.app on your phone and choose "Add to Home Screen". It launches full-screen like any other app and keeps working without signal.
Go and look at things
Record as you go. Your history, firsts and maps build themselves.
